StudentVUE/ParentVUE Update

old-computer-technology

All students have now gained access to the Student Vue system and can view teacher inputs from home.  Parent Vue access keys will be distributed at Back to School Night.  That feature will be turned on in the near future.  It essentially contains the same information as the Student Vue, so please don’t feel like you are missing anything.  The links to both of these systems can be found on the LOJ website!

Parent Night – Health Curriculum for 7th & 8th Grade

health-7

As a component of each health course, your child will receive instruction on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases/infections as required by state law. For 7th Graders, there will also be lessons on the body’s reproductive system.

I have linked two letters giving additional detail on the topics included in these units:

8th Grade Parents Click Here

This information is important, and we want you to know what your child will be learning. If you are interested in reviewing this curriculum, please attend our Parent Health Night on Monday, October 3 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in Room 10 of LOJHS.

LOJ Student Clubs

clubs-and-organizations

We have many students coming forward with wonderful ideas about student-led clubs for LOJ.  There is a short application process that asks students to articulate the goals for their clubs and other specifics, and they must have a teacher advisor sign off on their proposal.  They can pick up those applications in the front office.  Please let your children know that we love their ideas and enthusiasm!

As we continue to approve and add clubs, we will add them to the LOJ website here:
