(for incoming 6th graders)
TWO SESSIONS AVAILABLE:
Monday/Tuesday August 6th and 7th
OR
Wednesday/Thursday August 8th and 9th
BOTH SESSIONS RUN FROM 8:30-10:30 AM EACH DAY
This is a 2-day workshop designed for incoming 6th graders. The objective of this workshop is to teach students strategies and tips to help navigate the unfamiliar world of middle school and to help ease their transition to LOJ.
The workshop will focus on the following:
- How to communicate with teachers and be their best advocate!
- Accessing their web grades
- Accessing the teacher websites
- Accessing online homework
- Study skills and Organization tools to aid with school success
- Managing the NEW Middle level schedule
- Learning how to use lockers
- Learning how to navigate a building with 7th and 8th graders.
Please send marked water bottle and snack daily.
Teacher Bio:
Molly Healy has been as a school counselor in the Lake Oswego School District for 17 years. She has over 30 years experience counseling and teaching. She is the 6th grade counselor for this incoming class. She is looking forward to helping your students be successful and happy as they grow through LOJ!
